Ana Huang and a still from the film adaptation of Gods of the Game: The Striker

Ana Huang’s Gods of the Game is coming to the big screen.

10.04.2026

Ana Huang continues to shake up the world of romance. Yesterday, the author announced on her Instagram account that Amazon MGM Studios is adapting Gods of the Game for the big screen. Streaming platforms are increasingly betting on literary hits, especially in romance.

These books have already won over a very active community of readers (both women and men) particularly on BookTok, where they often go viral long before hitting the screen. For studios, it’s a sure bet: the project already has a fanbase and a strong universe, which leads to huge anticipation as soon as the adaptation is announced.

Ana Huang is on a roll with adaptations. Netflix is already developing a series based on Twisted Love, a project born from a seven-figure deal. With Gods of the Game, Amazon is now betting on a trilogy of films inspired by the sports saga. No specific details about the cast or the release date of the first Gods of the Game film have been revealed yet, but the announcement alone is already building anticipation.

Between the Twisted series on Netflix and this new film project, Ana Huang is cementing her status as a must-read author for romance readers. If God of Games piques your interest, it’s available in bookstores.
